July Fourth in Jemez Springs
The July 4 celebrations in Jemez Springs were as lively as ever. The parade started punctually at 10:00 AM and concluded at 10:16, thereby clocking in at two minutes longer than last year's extravaganza -- and this despite the fact that this year there was not a single politician riding in a shiny Mustang convertible anywhere to be seen!There were no fireworks permitted because of Extreme Fire Hazard throughout the region, but we did have arts and crafts on the plaza, food, music, games, and the library's annual used book sale (a full shopping bag for five bucks).
